Welcome aboard Bill

20th May 2016

The latest meeting of Furness RAM Lodge No 375 saw Bill Glassey elevated into the degree.
Jim Atkinson, Bill Glassey, Bob Morrish and Keiron Mullan.
Retired transport manager Bill is the IPM of Furness Mark Lodge No 36. He is active in many orders and can be described as one of those busy men you look to when you want a job doing well. Amongst the positions he holds is that of treasurer of Barrow in Furness Masonic Hall.
Worshipful Commander Dave Sear was assisted in the ceremony by Keiron Mullan who explained the signs and Jim Atkinson who presented the working tools.

As well as their connection through their membership of Furness Mark Lodge Dave and Bill work together as scribe and treasurer respectively of Vale Chapter of Installed Principals.
Special Representative Stuart Brackstone and John Stanley
But particularly noteworthy is the fact that Keiron was Bill’s proposer for Furness RAM and Jim was his second. It added further to the ceremony.
In his first outing as Senior Deacon Bob Morrish can reflect with pride on the manner in which he conducted Bill throughout the ceremony.
Making the journey around the bay to witness proceedings was John Stanley Worshipful Commander of Morecambe RAM Lodge No 716.

In replying to the toast to his health at the festive board Bill commented that he had resisted the temptation to search the web to find out more about the degree as he wanted to enter it with no pre-conceived ideas. He had found the ceremony to be colourful, completely different and very interesting.
